Work for Adventureland in the Workamper Program
Every once in awhile I come across work opportunities that are suited to RVers so try and pass it on to everyone. I am not affiliated with this group but it looks interesting. As usual do you ‘due diligence’ and research it properly. Would love to hear if anyone has applied or worked for Adventureland.
The Program at Adventureland for Workamping
Adventureland Park’s Workamper Program provides deeply discounted camping in addition to pay for all hours that Workampers work throughout the entire season.
Our program has become a Win-Win for Adventureland and the Workamper!
Who & What We Are
Adventureland is an outdoor amusement facility. Our Workampers primarily work in the amusement park. In addition to the amusement park, there is a 187 room Hotel and a 310 site campground spread over 200 + acres. We are located just east of Des Moines in Altoona, IA right off I-80 exit 142. We expect to provide entertainment for well over 600,000 guests this coming season.
Adventureland Park is open beginning with part time weekend operations the last week of April. Full time daily operation go from mid-May through mid August. The operational season returns to part time weekend-only through the last weekend in September.
Working RVers have historically filled many positions here at Adventureland Park. They have worked in:
Running and assisting in the operation of amusement rides in our park.
Working as a retail clerk in one of our many retail locations in the park and waterpark.
Food Service Operations
Working in one of seven food court areas in the park, many of which are managed by Working RVers.
Working in one of the three games locations in our park.>
You need to be aware that all of our positions require you to be on your feet working.
Many positions require that you work outside.
During weekend operations – late April to mid May and mid August to late September: Be available to work Saturday and Sunday.
During full-time daily operations – mid May to mid August: Work 5 to 8 hours/day for 5-6 days/week. You may expect to be scheduled up to 40 hours/week.
Team Member Dress Code
We have a dress code that we ask all of our employees to follow. Adventureland works at developing a clean, well kept appearance.
Hair can not extend below the shirt collar, beards are not allowed, but conservative mustaches and sideburns are acceptable.
If hair length is longer than shoulder length it must be tied back, and conservative use of make-up is required.
If you have specific questions about dress code please ask when calling or writing to us.
