Mexico RV Travel Buddies

Considering a trip to Mexico in your RV?

I recently came across this really good forum – Mexico RV Travel Buddies This site is to enable you to find Travel Companions for Mexico. While it is primarily for RV’s, it may also be used by those in Cars, or by Backpackers. Cars & RV’s are a good mix as most RV Parks either have hotel accommodation attached or close by.  It’s FREE!

If you are unsure about traveling into Mexico I suggest starting out with an organized caravan.  There are some really good commercial caravan companies who will guide you into Mexico and make all of the arrangements for you.  Or, go to the Baja for your first adventure into Mexico on your own.   It’s interesting but I did it differently.  A few years ago we traveled for 3 months through out Mexico but have never been to the Baja – hopefully that can be rectified soon.

I would be really interested in hearing what others think about this forum Mexico RV Travel Buddies and if you have any other good suggestions.

Happy travels,

Carol Ann Quibell

I’m new to this site, trying to find sport RVs (van less than 24′) travel together to Mexico or Central America. We have a 24′ Type B RV and just got back from Prudhoe Bay. We are planning our next adventure to see Mayan sites in Mexico/Central America. We plan to leave the States sometime in October. Thinking a small group of 3-5 RV travel together …

I am leaving in mid July for my home in the Yucatan, driving in my 32 ft rv, have room for one ride-share person. Costs split 50/50 (tolls and gas run about $900 USD, your half would be $450. No pets, no smokers! Supply your own food and drinks. It will be a leisurely drive, about 10 days from Matamoras (McAllen, TX) to Merida, Yucatan.
I’m a 69 year old neutered male, retired Air Force Vet, love fishing and enjoying a relaxed lifestyle. Have lived in Mexico on and off for 30 years.

    1. Thanks Ken – I will post this for you. Good luck – I would love to hear more about your life in Mexico. I was in Merida quite a few years ago and it was one of my favorite places to visit.

    Hi Carol,

Me and my twin girls and my mother and getting ready to buy an RV and start traveling the US. Although, I have been to many places, my girls have not. The first place I want to take them is Tulum, Mexico and Playa Del Carmen. I want to travel in a carvan. I believe we will be ready by June of this year. What do you suggest in getting in touch with a caravan to find one going to these locations at that time.

    1. Hi Stephanie,

I am not too sure there are any caravans going to Mexico in June. Most take place from the fall, over the winter and into the spring. However, I could be wrong. There may even be a private group going who you can connect with. Here are a few outfits who may be able to help you or guide you in the right direction. Mexican Buddies, Adventure Caravans. Here is a link to a Facebook Group you could ask directly.
If I can find anything specific I will forward the info to you.
      Good luck with your adventure.
