Summer Employment Opportunities

Bow Valley Park Campgrounds operates in Kananaskis Country, under contract with the Alberta Government, seven campgrounds with over 600 campsites, associated day use facilities and seven group camps and a campground store in the Bow Valley Provincial Park. We are seeking highly motivated, outgoing friendly and hard working individuals to fill summer staffing positions in the areas of maintenance, compliance and retail operations. These positions are expected to run from May through September and involve a non-typical workweek. (i.e., shift work).

Available Position:

1. Maintenance Workers: Responsible for the upkeep and cleaning of park buildings and facilities, washroom cleaning, campsites cleaning, grass cutting, tree trimming, painting, and other related duties. This is an outdoor position that, at time, may require individuals to work independently without constant or direct supervision. Outgoing, hardworking persons with strong communication skills are required. Must have valid driver’s license. Park experience, outdoor education and related certification (chainsaw course, first aid etc.) would be an asset.

2. Campground Store Attendants: Responsible for retail sales of the store. The staff is responsible for taking campground, group campground and rafting reservations as well as registration of arriving campers. Two-way radio communications with other campground staff and provision of information, recreational opportunities and directions to the visitors of Kananaskis country is an essential part of the position. Must be able to work with others and independently. Experience in retail would be an asset. Strong communication, computer, cash register and organizational skills along with a valid drivers license are required.

Accommodation is available for staff and works as a residence atmosphere. Bow Valley’s staff has always worked as a team during and out of work. We have laundry facilities and a large kitchen complete with a large grill. This is a fun setting and the benefits of working in Kananaskis country are unforgettable and the scenery like no other.
3. Host: This position is ideal for retired couples with some handy man skills seeking to remain active, and those who enjoy the outdoors and interacting with the public. Responsibilities include informing campers of park regulations, ensuring camper registration, selling of firewood, regular cleaning of sites and washroom facilities, maintenance and painting. The successful candidate would be required to reside in the campground, in their own RV.
